Vidya Sinha Critical In CritiCare Hospital, Put On Ventilator

We hate to give such news in the closing stages of the day, but we have heard something really unfortunate just few minutes ago. Yesteryears' actress Vidya Sinha is in a critical state in CritiCare Hospital in Juhu. Vidya was rushed to the hospital two days back in a serious condition. While her blood pressure and pulse rate at the moment are normal, we hear that she is in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) on PAP (Positive airway Pressure) ventilator.

Sources say that her condition is better than what it was on Wednesday but she still cannot be said to be completely out of danger. If the PAP is removed, her oxygen levels tend to drop and she becomes breathless. The 71-year-old actress has developed lung and cardiac disorders both. The lung disorder had originated a few years ago and it has got aggravated now.


The cardiac disorder is a new, added problem. Sources also tell us that Vidya was advised to undergo angiography but her relatives who are attending to her were not too keen to the idea.


Vidya had been leading a turbulent life on her marital front. On January 9, 2009, Vidya filed a police complaint against her (second) husband Netaji Bhimrao Salunkhe of physical and mental torture. They were divorced soon afterwards, and after a protracted battle she won her case against him for maintenance. Yours truly had called her sometime back, but the dignified lady that she is, chose to not wash her dirty linen in public.

Before Netaji Bhimrao, she had married her neighbor, a Tamil Brahmin named Venkateshwaran Iyer in 1968 and adopted a daughter Jhanvi in 1989. Iyer died in 1996.
